Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8607

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir or Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the last period of this Ummah there will be a caliph who will distribute wealth and will not count it."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Correction: In our manuscripts this name has been corrupted and written as "Abd al-Hamid", whereas this is Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi, who is "Ibn Abd al-Majid", not "Ibn Abd al-Hamid".

Variation among the manuscripts: Only in manuscript (M) does it come combined as "Jabir and Abu Sa'id" (with the conjunctive waw).

Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Identification of the narrator: Abu Musa is Muhammad bin al-Muthanna.
Singular route: We have not found this route of Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi from Dawud bin Abi Hind with anyone other than the author (al-Hakim).
Takhrij: However, Ahmad 22/ (14567) and Muslim (2914) narrated it via Abd al-Warith bin Sa'id, from Dawud bin Abi Hind, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id and Jabir, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
