Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8602

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave the Abyssinians alone (do not provoke them) as long as they leave you alone, for no one will take out the treasure of the Ka'bah except that thin-shanked man from Abyssinia."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. However, both of them agreed on recording this hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Ka'bah will be demolished by the short-shanked man from Abyssinia."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Correction: In our manuscripts it is written "Abd Allah bin Umar" (without the waw); the correction was made from "Talkhis al-Dhahabi", "Ithaf al-Maharah" (11624) and the sources of the takhrij (that he is Abd Allah bin Amr).

Grading of the chain: This chain is "hasan" because of Musa bin Jubayr; a group narrated from him and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat", though he said that he errs and contradicts others, while al-Dhahabi declared him thiqah without qualification in "al-Kashif".
Identification of the narrators: Abu Amir al-Aqadi is Abd al-Malik bin Amr, and Zuhayr bin Muhammad is Abu al-Mundhir al-Tamimi al-Khurasani.
Takhrij: It was narrated by Abu Dawud (4309) from al-Qasim bin Ahmad al-Baghdadi, from Abu Amir al-Aqadi, with this same chain.
Takhrij: It was recorded by Ahmad 38/ (23155) via Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi from Zuhayr bin Muhammad, but in it, instead of naming the narrator, he said "a man from the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)".
Takhrij: Its meaning was narrated by Ahmad 11/ (7053) via Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Abd Allah bin Abi Najih, from Mujahid, from Abd Allah bin Amr.
Supporting reports: The opening part of the hadith (leaving the Abyssinians alone) is supported by the hadith of Abu Sukaynah from one of the Companions, as marfu'; it was narrated by Abu Dawud (4302) and al-Nasa'i (4370), and its chain has some laxity (lin).
Linguistic note: "Al-suwayqatan" is the dual of "suwayqah", which is the diminutive of "saq" (shin), (i.e. one with small, thin shins).

Correction: In the manuscripts this word has been corrupted and written as "Waththab".

Takhrij: It was narrated by al-Bukhari (1591) and Muslim (2909) via various routes from Sufyan - who is Ibn Uyaynah - with this same chain.
