Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8581

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In my Ummah there will be the swallowing up by the earth, the transformation of forms, and the raining of stones (from the sky)."
If Abu al-Zubayr's hearing from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr is established, then this hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but neither of them (Bukhari and Muslim) recorded it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts, in both places, it reads "Umar" (without the waw), whereas the correct position is that this hadith is from the hadith of Abd Allah bin Amr bin al-As, as it is with all who have recorded it.

Grading: This hadith is hasan li-ghayrihi, but this chain is weak because it is broken.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Because Abu al-Zubayr (who is Muhammad bin Muslim bin Tadrus al-Makki) did not hear from Abd Allah bin Amr bin al-As, as Ibn Ma'in and Abu Hatim al-Razi stated.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad 11/ (6521) from Abd Allah bin Numayr with this same chain.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Majah (4062) via Abu Mu'awiyah al-Darir and Muhammad bin Fudayl, from al-Hasan bin Amr al-Fuqaymi, in the same way.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bazzar (2377) via Muhammad bin Fudayl, from Yazid bin Abi Ziyad (who is al-Hashimi, their client), from Mujahid, from Abd Allah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him).
Grading: This chain is weak because of the weakness of Yazid bin Abi Ziyad.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The hadiths of Abd Allah bin Mas'ud, Sahl bin Sa'd and Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), found in Ibn Majah (4059 - 4061), serve as supporting reports for this hadith, and the best of them in terms of chain is the hadith of Abd Allah bin Mas'ud.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) in Ibn Hibban (6759) also supports it, and its chain is hasan.
