مَنْ حَالَتْ شَفَاعَتُهُ دُونَ حَدٍّ فَقَدْ ضَادَّ اللَّهَ فِي أَمْرِهِ
Whoever's intercession prevents a prescribed punishment has opposed Allah in His command

حدَّثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا أحمد بن بشر المَرثَدي، حدَّثنا بِشر بن معاذ، حدَّثنا عبد الله بن جعفر، حدثني مسلم بن أبي مريم، عن عبد الله بن عامر بن رَبيعة، عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "مَن حالَتْ شفاعتُه دونَ حدٍّ من حدود الله، فقد ضادَّ الله تعالى في أمرِه" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever's intercession stands in the way of one of the prescribed punishments of Allah has opposed Allah Almighty in His command."

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف من أجل عبد الله بن جعفر: وهو ابن نجيح السعدي.
Grading: (1) This hadith is sahih (in its text), but this isnad is da'if (weak) because of Abd Allah bin Ja'far. Technical note / Defect ('illah): He is Abd Allah bin Ja'far bin Najih al-Sa'di.
وأخرجه الطبراني في "الكبير" (13084) من طريق داود بن رشيد، عن عبد الله بن جعفر، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Tabarani in "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" (13084) via Dawud bin Rushayd, from Abd Allah bin Ja'far, with this same isnad.
وقد سلف مطولًا برقم (2253) من طريق يحيى بن راشد عن عبد الله بن عمر.
Important point: This narration has passed earlier in detail as number (2253) via Yahya bin Rashid from Abd Allah bin Umar.
