It is narrated from Amr bin Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pardon one another in matters of the prescribed punishments among yourselves, for whatever prescribed punishment is reported to me becomes obligatory (to carry out)."
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (its chain is authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (3) This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi", and there is no harm in the narrators of this isnad. Technical note / Defect ('illah): However, there is disagreement over Ibn Jurayj (Abd al-Malik bin Abd al-Aziz) as to whether he narrated it as "mawsul" (connected) or "mursal".
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Abd Allah bin Wahb, here in the author (al-Hakim)'s work and also in Abu Dawud (4376) and al-Nasa'i (7332); by al-Walid bin Muslim, in al-Nasa'i (7331); by Isma'il bin Ayyash, in Ibn Abi Asim's "al-Diyat" (pp. 94-95), al-Tabarani's "al-Mu'jam al-Awsat" (6212) and al-Daraqutni (3196); and by Muslim bin Khalid, in al-Daraqutni (3197). Technical note / Defect ('illah): All four of these narrators (Abd Allah bin Wahb, al-Walid, Isma'il, Muslim bin Khalid) narrate it from Ibn Jurayj as "mawsul" (with a connected chain).
Details of the narration: They were all contradicted by Abd al-Razzaq (18937) — and via him al-Daraqutni (3198) — and by Isma'il Ibn Ulayyah, in al-Daraqutni (3199). The two of them narrated it from Ibn Jurayj (who said): Amr bin Shu'ayb informed me, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, and he mentioned it as "mu'dal" (with a chain missing two or more consecutive narrators). Technical note / Defect ('illah): In his narration Abd al-Razzaq joined al-Muthanna bin al-Sabbah together with Ibn Jurayj, and al-Muthanna is weak in hadith (layyin al-hadith).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: We have mentioned the supporting reports for it under the previous hadith.
