فحدَّثَناه أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنْبري، حدَّثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدَّثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا معاذ بن هشام، حدثني أبي، عن قَتادةَ، عن شَهْر بن حَوْشَب، عن عبد الله بن عمرو: أنَّ النبيَّ ﷺ قال في الخمر: "إذا شَرِبُوها فاجلِدُوهم، ثم إن شَرِبُوها فاجلِدُوهم، ثم إذا شَرِبُوها فاجلِدُوهم، ثم إذا شَرِبُوها فاقتُلوهم عند الرابعة" (1). وأما حديثُ شُرَحبيل بن أوس:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning wine: "When they drink it, flog them; then if they drink it again, flog them; then if they drink it a third time, flog them; and on the fourth time of drinking, kill them."

(1) إسناده حسن في المتابعات والشواهد من أجل شهر بن حوشب. محمد بن عبد السلام: هو ابن بشار النيسابوري، وهشام والد معاذ: هو الدستوائي.
Grading: (1) Its chain is hasan in corroborating and supporting reports because of Shahr bin Hawshab.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Muhammad bin Abd al-Salam is Ibn Bashshar al-Naysaburi, and Hisham, the father of Mu'adh, is (Hisham) al-Dastuwa'i.
وأخرجه أحمد 11/ (6553) عن معاذ بن هشام، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (11/6553) narrated it from Mu'adh bin Hisham, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد أيضًا (6553) و (7003) من طريق همام بن يحيى، عن قَتادةَ به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad also narrated it (6553, 7003) through the route of Hammam bin Yahya, from Qatadah, in the same way.
وأخرجه أحمد (6791) و (6974) من طريق الحسن البصري قال: والله لقد زعموا أن عبد الله بن عمرو شهد بها على رسول الله ﷺ أنه قال، فذكره. والحسن لم يسمع من عبد الله بن عمرو، قاله علي بن المديني كما في "المراسيل" لابن أبي حاتم.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (6791, 6974) transmitted it through the route of al-Hasan al-Basri, who said: "By Allah, they claimed that Abdullah bin Amr testified that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said", and then he mentioned the hadith.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Hasan al-Basri's hearing from Abdullah bin Amr is not established; this was stated by Ali bin al-Madini, as found in Ibn Abi Hatim's "al-Marasil".
