فحدَّثَناه الحسن بن يعقوب العَدْل، حدَّثنا يحيى بن أبي طالب، حدَّثنا عبد الوهاب بن عطاء، أخبرنا سعيد، عن (2) عاصم بن بَهْدلة، عن ذَكْوان أبي صالح - وأثنى عليه خيرًا - عن معاوية، عن النبيِّ ﷺ قال: "إن شَرِبُوا الخمر فاجلِدُوهم، ثم إن شَرِبُوا فاجلِدُوهم، ثم إن شَرِبُوا فَاجلِدُوهم، ثم إن شَرِبُوا الرابعةَ فاقتلوهم (3) " (4). وأما حديثُ الشَّريد بن سُوَيد:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If they drink wine, flog them; then if they drink again, flog them; then if they drink a third time, flog them; then if they drink the fourth time, kill them."

(2) تحرّف في النسخ الخطية إلى: بن.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (2) In the handwritten manuscripts this word has been corrupted into "bin".
(3) المثبت من (ك)، وفي بقية النسخ الخطية: فاقتلوه.
Note / Clarification: (3) The text recorded is taken from manuscript (K), while the other handwritten manuscripts have the words "fa'qtuluhu" (then kill him).
(4) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن. واختلف على أبي صالح. وهو ذكوان السمان - في تسمية صحابيه، سبق التنبيه عليه عند الرواية (8314).
Grading: (4) This hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is disagreement from Abu Salih, who is Dhakwan al-Samman, in naming its Companion; attention was drawn to this under narration no. (8314).
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (2573)، وابن حبان (4446) من طريق شعيب بن إسحاق، عن سعيد بن أبي عروبة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (2573) and Ibn Hibban (4446) narrated it through the route of Shu'ayb bin Ishaq, from Sa'id bin Abi Arubah, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 28/ (16859) و (16869) و (16926)، وأبو داود (4482)، والترمذي (1444)، والنسائي (5278) من طرق عن عاصم بن بهدلة، به.
