أخبرني أبو الحسن إسماعيل بن محمد بن الفضل الشَّعْراني، حدثنا جدِّي، حدثنا إبراهيم بن حمزة، حدثنا عبد العزيز بن محمد، عن موسى بن إبراهيم قال: سمعت سَلَمةَ بن الأكوع يقول: سألتُ النبيَّ ﷺ فقلت: أكونُ في الصيد وليس عليَّ إلّا قميصٌ واحد، أو جُبَّة واحدة، فأشُدُّه - أو قال: أزرُّه -؟ قال: "نعم، ولو بشَوْكةٍ" (1).
هذا حديث مَدِيني صحيح، فإنَّ موسى هذا هو ابن إبراهيم التَّيْمي، أخو محمد (2) ولم يخرجاه.

Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): I am out hunting and there is nothing on my body except a single shirt or a single cloak; should I tie it up (to cover my private parts) or fasten it with a button? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, even if it is only with a thorn."
This is a sahih (authentic) Madinan hadith, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is hasan.
وأخرجه أبو داود (632)، وابن حبان (2294) من طريقين عن عبد العزيز بن محمد - وهو الدَّراوردي - بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (632) and Ibn Hibban (2294) narrated it by two routes from Abd al-Aziz bin Muhammad al-Darawardi, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 27/ (16520) و (16522) و (16547)، والنسائي (843) من طريق عطّاف بن خالد، عن موسى بن إبراهيم به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (27/16520, 16522, 16547) and al-Nasa'i (843) narrated it by the chain of Attaf bin Khalid from Musa bin Ibrahim.
(2) هذا وهمٌ من المصنف ﵀، فإنَّ موسى بن إبراهيم هذا الذي يروي عن سلمة بن الأكوع وصرَّح بسماعه منه: هو موسى بن إبراهيم بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ربيعة المخزومي، قد جاء التصريح بنسبه في غير ما رواية، وقد ذكر محمد بن عثمان بن أبي شيبة في "سؤالاته" لابن المديني (102): أنه سأل عليَّ بن المديني عن موسى بن إبراهيم الذي كان يروي عن سلمة بن الأكوع فقال: كان صالحًا وسطًا. وأما التيمي الذي ذهب وهمُ الحاكم إليه: فهو موسى بن محمد بن إبراهيم التيمي، فلم يدرك سلمة، وهو شيخ ضعيف الحديث، وقد فرَّق بينهما أبو حاتم فيما نقله عنه ابنه في ترجمة موسى بن إبراهيم المخزومي من "الجرح والتعديل" 8/ 133.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (2) This is an oversight of the author (Imam al-Hakim), because this Musa bin Ibrahim, who narrates from Salamah bin al-Akwa' and stated explicitly that he heard from him, is in fact "Musa bin Ibrahim bin Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Rabi'ah al-Makhzumi".
Important point: As for "al-Taymi", to whom al-Hakim's error led, he is "Musa bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Taymi", who did not live in the time of Salamah (the Companion) and is da'if in hadith. Abu Hatim clearly distinguished between the two (al-Jarh wa al-Ta'dil 8/133).
