نَهَى أَنْ يُصَلَّى فِي لِحَافٍ لَا يُتَوَشَّحُ بِهِ ، وَنَهَى أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الرَّجُلُ فِي سَرَاوِيلَ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ رِدَاءٌ

حدثنا أبو علي الحسين بن علي الحافظ، أخبرنا إبراهيم بن عبد الله المُخرِّمي (3)، حدثنا سعيد بن محمد الجَرْمي، حدثنا أبو تُمَيلة يحيى بن واضح، حدثنا أبو المُنِيب، عن عبد الله بن بُرَيْدَة، عن أبيه قال: نَهَى رسولُ الله ﷺ أَن يُصلَّى في لحافٍ لا يُتوَشَحُ به، ونهى أن يُصلِّيَ الرجلُ في سراويلَ وليس عليه رداءٌ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه، واحتجَّا بأبي تُمَيلة، وأما أبو المُنِيب المروَزي فإنه عُبيد الله بن عبد الله العَتَكي (2) من ثِقات المَراوِزة وممَّن يُجمَع حديثه في الخُراسانيين.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying in a sheet that is (merely wrapped around and) not draped over the shoulders, and he also forbade a man to pray in trousers alone while he has no sheet or upper garment on him.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it; its narrator Abu al-Munib al-Marwazi is trustworthy.

(3) تحرَّف في النسخ الخطية إلى المخزومي، والتصويب من "إتحاف المهرة" 2/ 565، ومن مصادر ترجمته، فله ترجمة في "تاريخ بغداد 7/ 40 و "سير أعلام النبلاء" 14/ 196، والمخرِّمي: نسبة إلى المخرِّم، مَحَلَّة ببغداد، وذكره في هذه النسبة السمعانيُّ في كتابه "الأنساب".
Technical note: (3) In the manuscripts this had become "al-Makhzumi"; the correct form is "al-Mukharrimi" (Ithaf al-Maharah 2/565). Al-Mukharrimi is an attribution to "al-Mukharrim", a quarter of Baghdad, as al-Sam'ani mentioned in "al-Ansab".

وأخرجه أبو داود (636) عن محمد بن يحيى الذُّهلي عن سعيد بن محمد الجرمي، بهذا الإسناد. وسيأتي بأطول ممّا هنا برقم (7907)، وذكرنا شواهده هناك.
