(2). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whomever Allah Almighty protects from the evil of what is between his two jaws (the tongue) and what is between his two legs (the private parts) has entered Paradise."

Grading: Sahih li-ghayrihi. Grading of the chain: There is no harm in the narrators of this chain, but there is disagreement over its chain among those narrating from Muhammad bin Ajlan, as will come. (The narrator) "Abu Khalid al-Ahmar" is "Sulayman bin Hayyan", and "Abu Hazim" is "Salman al-Ashja'i". Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (2409) narrated it from Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj Abd Allah bin Sa'id, and Ibn Hibban (5703) via Abu Kurayb Muhammad bin al-Ala'; both of them from Abu Khalid al-Ahmar, with this same chain. Al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is "hasan gharib". Corroboration and contradiction: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar was corroborated by Khalid bin al-Harith al-Basri, who is thiqah; he narrated it from Ibn Ajlan in the same way (in Ibn Abd al-Barr's "al-Tamhid" 5/63-64). Whereas Sa'id bin Abi Ayyub contradicted them both (as found in al-Daraqutni's "al-Ilal" 8/238): he narrated it from Ibn Ajlan, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah. So he added "Abu Salih" between Abu Hazim and Abu Hurayrah, and Sa'id too is thiqah. Preference: Imam al-Bukhari (as found in al-Tirmidhi's "al-Ilal al-Kabir" 614) preferred the narration of Abu Khalid al-Ahmar and said: "It is the hadith of Abu Khalid." A weak narration: Al-Qasim bin Abd Allah al-Umari narrated it, in Tammam's "al-Fawa'id" (950), from Ibn Ajlan, from his father, from al-Qa'qa', from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah. Al-Qasim bin Abd Allah is "matruk and accused of lying".
