أخبرَناه أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدثنا أحمد (2) بن يونس الضَّبِّي، حدثنا يحيى بن أبي بُكَير، حدثنا أبو جعفر الرازي، حدثنا حُصين بن عبد الرحمن، عن عبد الله بن شدَّاد، عن ابن أمِّ مكتوم: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ استَقبَل الناسَ في صلاة العشاء فقال: "لقد هَمَمتُ أن آتِيَ هؤلاءِ الذين يتخلَّفون عن هذه الصلاة فأُحرِّقَ عليهم بيوتَهم"، فقام ابن أم مكتوم فقال: يا رسول الله، لقد علمتَ ما بي، وليس لي قائد، قال: "أتسمعُ الإقامةَ؟ " قال: نعم، قال: "احضُرْها" قال: يا رسول الله، إنَّ بيني وبينها نخلًا وشجرًا، وليس لي قائد، قال: "أتسمعُ الإقامة؟ " قال: نعم، قال: "فاحضُرْها"، ولم يُرخِّص له (1). وله شاهد آخر من حديث عاصم بن بَهْدلة:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards the people during the Isha prayer and said: "I had resolved to go to those who stay away from this prayer and set their houses on fire over them." So Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah! You know my condition: I am blind and I have no one to guide me." He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you hear the iqamah?" He said: "Yes." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then attend it." He said (again): "O Messenger of Allah! Between me and the mosque there are date palms and bushes, and I have no regular guide." He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked (again): "Do you hear the iqamah?" He said: "Yes." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then attend it." And he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not grant him an exemption (to pray at home).

Technical note: (2) In the manuscripts the name had become "Muhammad"; the correct name is "Ahmad", as in "Ithaf al-Maharah". This Ahmad bin Yunus is a thiqah narrator.
(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن إن شاء الله من أجل أبي جعفر الرازي: وهو عيسى بن أبي عيسى، وقد توبع.
Grading: The hadith is sahih, and God willing this chain is "hasan" on account of Abu Ja'far al-Razi (Isa bin Abi Isa); moreover, he has been corroborated.
فقد أخرجه أحمد 24/ (15491) من طريق عبد العزيز بن مسلم القسملي، عن حصين بن عبد الرحمن - وهو السُّلمي - بهذا الإسناد. وعبد العزيز من الثقات.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (24/15491) narrated it by the chain of Abd al-Aziz bin Muslim al-Qasmali from Husayn bin Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami. Abd al-Aziz is among the thiqah narrators.
