حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا موسى بن الحسن بن عبَّاد، حدثنا زكريا بن عَديّ، حدثنا عُبيد الله بن عمرو، عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عَقِيل، عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: جاءت امرأةُ سعد بن الرَّبيع فقالت: يا رسولَ الله، هاتانِ ابنتا سعد بن الرَّبيع، قُتل أبوهما معكَ يومَ أُحدٍ شهيدًا، وإنَّ عمَّهما أخذَ مالَهما فلم يَدَعْ لهما مالًا، فقال: "يَقضِي اللهُ في ذلك" قال: فنزلت آيةُ الميراث، فأرسلَ رسولُ الله ﷺ إلى عمِّهما، فقال: "أعطِ ابنتَيْ سعدٍ الثُّلثَينِ، وأُمَّهما الثّمنَ، وما بقيَ فهو لك" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the wife of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin al-Rabi' (may Allah be pleased with him) came (to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! These are the two daughters of Sa'd bin al-Rabi'. Their father was martyred with you at the Battle of Uhud, and now their paternal uncle has taken all their wealth and has left nothing for them." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty will decide concerning this." The narrator said: Then the verse of inheritance was revealed, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for their uncle and said: "Give the two daughters of Sa'd two-thirds, give their mother one-eighth, and whatever remains is yours."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) إسناده محتمل للتحسين من أجل عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل. وأخرجه أحمد 23 / (14798)، والترمذي (2092) من طريق زكريا بن عدي، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: Its chain can possibly be graded "hasan", because of 'Abdullah bin Muhammad bin 'Aqil.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (23/ 14798) and al-Tirmidhi (2092) narrated it via Zakariyya bin 'Adi with this same chain.
وقال الترمذي: حديث حسن صحيح، لا نعرفه إلَّا من حديث عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل.
Grading: Imam al-Tirmidhi said: "This hadith is hasan sahih; we know it only from the hadith of 'Abdullah bin Muhammad bin 'Aqil."
وسلف برقم (8153).
Note / Clarification: It has passed earlier at number (8153).
