ما أخبرَناه أبو بكر إسماعيل بن محمد الفقيه بالرَّيّ، حدثنا محمد بن الفَرَج الأزرق، حدثنا يحيى بن إسحاق، حدثنا سليمان بن داود اليَمَامي، عن يحيى بن أبي كثير، عن أبي سَلَمة، عن أبي هريرة، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "لا صلاةَ لجارِ المسجد إلّا في المسجد" (3). وقد صحَّت الروايةُ فيه عن أبي موسى الأشعري عن رسول الله ﷺ من حديث أبي حَصَين عن أبي بُردة بن أبي موسى عن أبيه: "مَن سَمِعَ النداءَ فلم يُجِبْ … " الحديث:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The prayer of the neighbour of the mosque is only in the mosque."
Imam al-Hakim says that a report with the same meaning is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari.

(3) إسناده واهٍ، سليمان بن داود اليمامي - وهو أبو الجمل قال ابن معين: ليس بشيء، وضعَّفه ابن حبان، وقال الدارقطني: متروك، وقال البخاري: منكر الحديث. ¤ ¤ وأخرجه البيهقي 3/ 57 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: (3) This chain is extremely weak (wahin). Regarding Sulayman bin Dawud al-Yamami (Abu al-Jamal), Ibn Ma'in said that he is nothing (laysa bi-shay'), al-Daraqutni called him matruk (abandoned), and al-Bukhari called him munkar al-hadith. Al-Bayhaqi narrated it by way of Imam al-Hakim.
وأخرجه الدارقطني (1553)، ومن طريقه ابن الجوزي في "العلل المتناهية" (693) من طريق محمد بن سعيد بن غالب العطار، عن يحيى بن إسحاق، به.
Reference / Source: Al-Daraqutni (1553) narrated it, and by his route Ibn al-Jawzi in "al-Ilal al-Mutanahiyah" (693), by the chain of Yahya bin Ishaq.
وفي الباب عن جابر بن عبد الله عند الدارقطني (1552) ومن طريقه ابن الجوزي (694)، وإسناده ضعيف ليِّن.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is the hadith of Jabir bin Abd Allah in al-Daraqutni (1552), but its chain is da'if and layyin (soft).
وعن عائشة عند ابن حبان في "المجروحين" 2/ 94، وابن الجوزي في "العلل المتناهية" (695)، وإسناده ضعيف جدًّا.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration from A'ishah was mentioned by Ibn Hibban in "al-Majruhin", but its chain is extremely weak.
وعن علي موقوفًا عند عبد الرزاق (1915)، وابن أبي شيبة 1/ 345، والبيهقي 3/ 57، وسنده ضعيف أيضًا.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This narration is reported from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) as mawquf by Abd al-Razzaq (1915), Ibn Abi Shaybah (1/345) and al-Bayhaqi (3/57), but its chain is also da'if.
قال الحافظ ابن حجر في "التلخيص الحبير" 2/ 31: حديث "لا صلاة لجار المسجد إلّا في المسجد" مشهور بين الناس، وهو ضعيف ليس له إسناد ثابت.
Grading: Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in "al-Talkhis al-Habir" (2/31): The hadith "There is no prayer for the neighbour of the mosque except in the mosque" is well known among people, but it is da'if and has no established chain.
