أخبرَناه أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى، حدثنا مسدَّد، حدثنا عمرو بن علي، عن عبد الله بن سعيد بن أبي سعيد المَقبُري، عن جدِّه، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "يمينُك على ما يُصدِّقُك به صاحبُك" (1).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your oath is valid according to the intention in which your companion (for whom the oath is being sworn) accepts you as truthful."

(1) إسناده ضعيف جدًّا من أجل عبد الله بن سعيد المقبري، فإنه متروك الحديث، ويُغني عنه ما قبله.
Grading: This chain is "extremely weak" (da'if jiddan) because of 'Abd Allah bin Sa'id al-Maqburi, since he is "matruk al-hadith" (abandoned); however, the previous sound narrations make it unnecessary.
وأخرجه الطحاوي في "شرح المشكل" (1873) من طريق عمر بن علي بن مقدم، والمزي في ترجمة عبد الله بن أبي صالح من "تهذيب الكمال" 15/ 120 من طريق أبي بكر النهشلي، كلاهما عن عبد الله بن سعيد المقبري، عن جدِّه، به.
Reference / Source: Al-Tahawi narrated it in "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (1873) through 'Umar bin 'Ali bin Muqaddam, and al-Mizzi in "Tahdhib al-Kamal" (15/120) through Abu Bakr al-Nahshali; both reported it with the chain 'Abd Allah bin Sa'id al-Maqburi from his grandfather (Sa'id al-Maqburi).
وأخرجه أحمد 12/ (8378) من طريق عبد الله بن عقيل الثقفي، عن عبد الله بن سعيد، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ "يمينك ما يصدقك به صاحبك". فجعله عن أبيه بدل عن جدِّه!
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it at (8378) through 'Abd Allah bin 'Aqil al-Thaqafi, with the chain 'Abd Allah bin Sa'id from his father from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your oath is (valid) according to what your companion believes you in."
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Here the narrator reported it via "his father" instead of "his grandfather".
