Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We used to count 'al-yamin al-ghamus' among the sins for which there is no expiation (that is, it is not forgiven without repentance). It was asked: What is 'al-yamin al-ghamus'? He said: That a man seizes the wealth of another by means of his (false) oath.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it; however, this statement of the Companion has been accepted with this chain.
