حدثنا علي بن محمد بن عُقبة الشَّيباني، حدثنا محمد بن علي بن عفّان، حدثنا قبيصة بن عُقبة، حدثنا سفيان، عن الأسود بن قيس، عن نُبَيح (1) العَنَزَي، عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: كان رسولُ الله ﷺ إذا خرجَ من بيته مَشَيْنا قُدَّامَه، وتَرَكْنا خلفَه للملائكة (2).

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out (of his house), we would walk in front of him (peace and blessings be upon him) and leave the space behind him (peace and blessings be upon him) for the angels.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts this name has been corrupted into "Fulayh".
(2) إسناده صحيح. سفيان: هو الثَّوري. وسلف الحديث من طريقه برقم (3586). وانظر الحديث التالي.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Note / Clarification: Sufyan refers to Sufyan al-Thawri. This hadith has already passed through his route under number (3586). See also the next hadith.
