أخبرنا أبو العباس محمد بن أحمد المحبوبي، حدثنا سعيد بن مسعود، حدثنا النَّضْر بن شُمَيل، حدثنا شُعبة، عن قَتَادة ومنصور وسليمان وحُصَين بن عبد الرحمن، قالوا سمعنا سالمَ بن أبي الجَعْد يحدِّث عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: وُلِدَ للأنصار ولدٌ فأرادوا أن يسمُّوه محمدًا، فأتَوا به رسولَ الله ﷺ، فقال: "أحسنَتِ الأنصارُ، تَسمَّوا باسمي ولا تَكْتَنُوا بكُنْيتي، فإنما بُعِثتُ قاسِمًا أَقسِمُ بينكم" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين وقد اتَّفقا فيه على حديث جَرير عن منصور بغير هذه السِّياقة. وقد جمع بِشرُ بن عمر الزَّهراني وأبو الوليد الطَّيالسي عن شُعبة بين الأربعة كما جمع بينهم النَّضرُ بن شُمَيل:
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين وقد اتَّفقا فيه على حديث جَرير عن منصور بغير هذه السِّياقة. وقد جمع بِشرُ بن عمر الزَّهراني وأبو الوليد الطَّيالسي عن شُعبة بين الأربعة كما جمع بينهم النَّضرُ بن شُمَيل:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: A child was born among the Ansar, and they wanted to name him "Muhammad". They brought him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Ansar have done well. Name yourselves with my name, but do not take my kunyah, for I have been sent as a qasim (distributor) to distribute among you."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they both agreed in it on the narration of Jarir from Mansur, but not with this wording.
