It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "I have been commanded to celebrate the Day of Adha as an Eid, which Allah has appointed for this Ummah." The man said: (O Messenger of Allah!) If I have nothing except my son's maniha (a milch camel lent for its milk), or the goat of myself and my family, should I slaughter it? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No; rather (instead of that), trim your nails, cut your moustache and shave your pubic hair. That is your complete sacrifice with Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
This hadith has an authentic chain (sahih al-isnad), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Manuscripts (Z), (S) and (M) contain various errors in the narrator's name; the correct name is 'Ayyash bin 'Abbas ('Ayyash with "sh" and 'Abbas with "s"). In "al-Talkhis" this name is written correctly.
Note / Clarification: The manuscripts have the words "fa-lam ajid" (so I did not find), whereas "al-Talkhis" has "fa-in lam najid" (so if we do not find).
Note / Clarification: Manuscript (Z) and "al-Talkhis" have "untha" (written without the hamzah), while in (S) and (M) it is written without dots. The reading adopted in the text is taken from some of the source works, while others have "untha" (female), as in (Z).
Note / Clarification: The word "ibni" (my son) has dropped out of manuscript (Z).
(4008). Grading: Because of Isa bin Hilal al-Sadafi its chain is "layyin" (soft/weak), as has already passed under hadith number (4008). Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (4439) narrated it from Yunus bin Abd al-A'la, and Ibn Hibban (5914) via Yazid bin Mawhab; both of them from Abd Allah bin Wahb, from Sa'id bin Abi Ayyub, with this same chain. Details of the narration: In al-Nasa'i's narration, other people are also mentioned. (4008). Reference / Source: Ahmad (11/6575) and Abu Dawud (2789) narrated it via Abd Allah bin Yazid al-Muqri', who narrates it from Sa'id bin Abi Ayyub alone. Note / Clarification: This narration of Ahmad is combined with the earlier hadith number (4008).
