حدَّثناه علي بن حَمْشَاذَ وأبو بكر بن بالَوَيهِ قالا: حدثنا محمد بن يونس، حدثنا عبد الله بن [داود، حدثنا إسماعيل بن عيّاش، عن ثَوْر بن يزيد، عن خالد بن مَعْدان] (4) عن أبي أُمامة الباهلي قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "عليكم بلِباسِ الصُّوف تَجِدُون حلاوةَ الإيمان في قلوبكم" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Adopt the wearing of wool; you will find the sweetness of faith in your hearts."

(4) وقع هنا مكان ما في المعقوفين بياضٌ في المطبوع ونسخنا من "المستدرك" حتى في نسخة الحافظ الذهبي كما في "تلخيصه"، وفات الحافظَ ابنَ حجر أن يذكره في كتابه "إتحاف المهرة"، ¤ ¤ واستدركناه من كتابه الآخر "الغرائب الملتقطة من مسند الفردوس" (2053) حيث خرَّجه أبو منصور الديلمي من كتاب الحاكم. وهذا الإسناد على النحو الذي أثبتناه عند كل من خرَّجه كما سيأتي.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the printed edition and the manuscripts of al-Mustadrak (including al-Hafiz al-Dhahabi's copy used for his Talkhis) there was a blank space at the place of the bracketed text. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar also missed mentioning it in "Ithaf al-Maharah"; however, we have recovered it from Ibn Hajar's other book "al-Ghara'ib al-Multaqatah min Musnad al-Firdaws" (2053), where Abu Mansur al-Daylami narrated it from al-Hakim's own book. This chain is established in the same form, as the details below will show.
(1) إسناده تالف، محمد بن يونس - وهو الكُديمي - واهٍ واتُّهم بالوضع، وشيخه عبد الله بن داود - وهو الواسطي التمَّار - صاحب مناكير.
Grading: Its chain is "talif" (utterly unreliable).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Muhammad bin Yunus (al-Kudaymi) is extremely weak and is accused of fabricating hadith (wad'). His teacher Abd Allah bin Dawud (al-Wasiti al-Tammar) is a narrator of munkar reports.
وأخرجه أبو القاسم بن بِشران في "أماليه" (52)، والبيهقي في "شعب الإيمان" (5742)، والخطيب البغدادي في "الزهد والرقائق" (5)، وابن النقور في "فوائده" (51)، وابن عساكر في "معجم شيوخه" (1381)، وابن الجوزي في "الموضوعات" (1443) من طرق عن محمد بن يونس الكُديمي، بهذا الإسناد.
