أخبرني أزهر بن أحمد بن حَمدُون الخِرَقي ببغداد، حدّثنا يحيى بن جعفر بن الزِّبْرِقان، حدّثنا زيد بن الحُباب، حدّثنا موسى بن عُلَيّ بن رَبَاح، قال: سمعتُ أَبي يذكر عن سُرَاقة بن مالك، قال: قال لي رسول الله ﷺ: "ألا أدلُّك على الصَّدقة - أو من أعظمِ الصَّدقة - ابنتُك مردودةٌ عليك، ليس لها كاسِبٌ غيرُك" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suraqah bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him); he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Shall I not tell you about charity - or (he said) about the greatest charity? (It is) your daughter who has been returned to you (divorced or widowed) and has no one to earn for her except you."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده ضعيف، عُلَي بن رباح لم يسمعه من سراقة بن مالك كما أوضحته رواية أحمد في "المسند"، فقد جاء فيها: بلغني عن سراقة بن مالك، فذكره.
Grading: (1) Its chain is da'if (weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): 'Ulay bin Rabah did not hear it from Suraqah bin Malik, as the narration of Imam Ahmad in "al-Musnad" makes clear, for it contains the words: "It reached me from Suraqah bin Malik", and then he mentioned the hadith.
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (3667) عن أبي بكر بن أبي شيبة، عن زيد بن الحباب، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (3667) recorded it from Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah, from Zayd bin al-Hubab, with this chain.
وأخرجه أحمد (29/ 17586) عن عبد الله بن يزيد المقرئ، عن موسى بن علي، به.
