Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7496

أخبرنا أحمد بن يعقوب الثقفيّ، حدّثنا موسى بن هارون، حدّثنا أبو الربيع الزَّهْرانيّ، حدّثنا جعفر بن سليمان، عن أبي عِمران الجَوْنيّ، عن يزيد بن بابَنُوس، عن عائشة قالت: قلت: يا رسول الله، إنَّ لي جارَينِ بأيِّهما أبدأُ؟ قال: "بأقرَبِهما منكِ بابًا" (3). هكذا يرويه جعفر بن سليمان عن أبي عمران الجَونيّ، والصحيحُ رواية شُعبة:
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have two neighbours; with which of them should I begin (in giving gifts)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one whose door is nearer to you."

(3) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد قد اختُلف فيه على جعفر بن سليمان - وهو الضُّبعي - فمرة يرويه عن أبي عمران الجوني - وهو عبد الملك بن حبيب - عن يزيد بن بابنوس عن عائشة، ومرة يرويه عن أبي عمران عن طلحة بن عبد الله بن عوف الزهريّ، وكلاهما غير محفوظ، والصحيح هو رواية شعبة ومَن تابعه كما قال الدارقطني في "العلل" (3699)، وهي التي أشار إليها المصنّف عقب الحديث، وصحَّحها.
Grading: This hadith is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In this chain there is disagreement over Ja'far bin Sulayman - who is al-Dubai'i. Sometimes he narrates it from Abu 'Imran al-Jawni - who is 'Abd al-Malik bin Habib - from Yazid bin Babanus, from 'A'ishah; and sometimes he narrates it from Abu 'Imran, from Talhah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Awf al-Zuhri. Both of these routes are not mahfuz (not preserved). The correct narration is that of Shu'bah and those who corroborated him, as al-Daraqutni said in "al-'Ilal" (3699), and it is this that the author (al-Hakim) pointed to after the hadith and declared sahih.
وأخرجه الطحاوي في "مشكل الآثار" (2799) عن جعفر بن سليمان الضُّبعيّ، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tahawi in "Mushkil al-Athar" (2799) from Ja'far bin Sulayman al-Dubai'i, with this same chain.
وأخرجه عبد الرزاق (14401)، ومن طريقه البيهقي 6/ 28 عن جعفر بن سليمان، عن أبي عمران الجونيّ، عن طلحة بن عبد الله بن عوف، عن عائشة.
