أخبرنا عبد الرحمن بن الحسين القاضي بهَمَذان، حدثنا إبراهيم بن الحسين، حدثنا عفّان وحجَّاج بن مِنهال، قالا: حدثنا حماد سَلَمة، عن قَتَادةَ، عن بن أبي ثُمَامة (1) الثَّقفي، عن عبد الله بن عمرو، عن النبيِّ ﷺ قال: "تَجيءُ الرَّحِمُ يوم القيامة لها حُجْنةٌ كحُجْنةِ المِعْزَل، فتتكلَّمُ بلسانٍ ذَلْقٍ طَلْقٍ، فَتَصِلُ من وَصَلَها وتقطعُ من قَطَعَها" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, the womb (kinship) will come having a hook like the hook of a spindle, and it will speak with an eloquent, fluent tongue. It will join whoever joined it (in the world) and cut off whoever cut it off."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) تحرَّف في النسخ الخطية إلى أمامة.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this word is corrupted into "Umamah".
(2) إسناده ضعيف، أبو ثمامة الثقفي تفرَّد بالرواية عنه قتادة، وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات" 5/ 567. عفان: هو ابن مسلم الصفار. وصحَّح أبو حاتم - كما في "العلل" (2002) أنَّ الصواب فيه أنه موقوف من كلام عبد الله بن عمرو.
Grading: Its chain is da'if (weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Qatadah is alone in narrating from Abu Thumamah al-Thaqafi, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat" (5/ 567). In the chain, "'Affan" is "Ibn Muslim al-Saffar". Imam Abu Hatim - as stated in "al-'Ilal" (2002) - judged that the correct position regarding it is that it is "mawquf", being the words of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr.
وأخرجه أحمد 11/ (6774) عن عفّان بن مسلم بهذا الإسناد.

وأخرجه أحمد (6774) عن بهز بن أسد، و (6950) عن روح بن عبادة، كلاهما عن حماد بن سلمة به.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam Ahmad at (6774) from Bahz bin Asad and at (6950) from Rawh bin 'Ubadah, and both of them narrate it from Hammad bin Salamah with this same chain.

قوله: "حُجنة المغزل" صنّارته المُعوجَّة التي في رأسه.
Note / Clarification: "Hujnat al-mighzal": the crooked part (hook) at the top of a spindle.
ذَلْق: فصيح بليغ. طَلْق: ماضي القول، سريع النطق.
Note / Clarification: "Dhalq": eloquent and articulate of tongue. "Talq": one who speaks fluently, quick of speech.
