فأخبرَناه أبو العباس محمد بن أحمد المحبوبي، حدثنا سعيد بن مسعود، حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا سفيان بن حسين، عن الزُّهْري، عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن قال: عادَ عبدُ الرحمن بن عوف أبا الردَّاد الليثي فقال: سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "قال الله: أنا الله، أنا الرحمنُ، خلقتُ الرَّحِمَ، وشَقَقتُ لها شُعبةً من اسمي، فمَن وَصَلَها وصلتُه، ومن قَطَعَها قطعتُه" (2) رجعتُ إلى ذكر الصحابة رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين: وأّما حديث عائشة ﵂:

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) visited Abu al-Raddad al-Laythi and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah Almighty said: I am Allah, I am al-Rahman. I created al-rahim (the tie of kinship) and derived a branch for it from My name. So whoever joins it, I will join him (with My mercy), and whoever severs it, I will cut him off."

Grading: This narration is also "sahih li-ghayrihi", like the previous one.
وأخرجه الطبري في مسند عبد الرحمن بن عوف من "تهذيب الآثار" ص 144 من طريق سعيد بن يحيى الحميري، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabari recorded it in "Tahdhib al-Athar" (Musnad 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Awf, page 144) by way of Sa'id bin Yahya al-Himyari, with this chain.
وأخرجه الخرائطي في "مكارم الأخلاق" (260)، و "مساويها" (263) من طريق عمر بن علي المقدّمي، عن سفيان بن حسين، عن الزُّهْري، عن إبراهيم بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف، فذكره. فجعل مكان أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن أخاه إبراهيم!
Reference / Source: Al-Khara'iti recorded it in "Makarim al-Akhlaq" (260) and "Masawi' al-Akhlaq" (263) by way of 'Umar bin 'Ali al-Muqaddami, from Sufyan bin Husayn, from al-Zuhri, from Ibrahim bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Awf, and he mentioned the hadith.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): So he put (in this chain) his brother "Ibrahim" in place of Abu Salamah bin 'Abd al-Rahman!
