فأخبرني أبو سهل بن زياد النَّحْوي ببغداد، حدثنا عبد الكريم بن الهيثم، حدثنا أبو اليمان، أخبرنا شعيب (ح) وحدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، واللفظُ له، حدثنا محمد بن خالد بن خَلِيّ، حدثنا بِشْر بن شعيب، حدثني أبي، عن الزُّهْري، حدثني أبو سلمة بن عبد الرحمن، أنَّ أبا الردَّاد الليثي أخبره، قال: سمعتُ عبد الرحمن بن عوف يذكر أنه سمع رسولَ الله ﷺ يقول: "قال الله ﵎: أنا الرحمنُ، خلقتُ الرَّحِمَ، وشَقَقَتُ لها من اسمي، فمَن وَصَلَها وصلتُه، ومن قَطَعَها قطعته" (1). وأمّا حديث سفيان بن حسين:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: I am al-Rahman. I created al-rahim and derived it from My name. So whoever joins it, I will join him, and whoever severs it, I will cut him off."

Grading: This narration is "sahih li-ghayrihi", and its chain is also like the previous ones.
وأخرجه أحمد 3/ (1681) عن بشر بن شعيب بن أبي حمزة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (3/ 1681) recorded it from Bishr bin Shu'ayb bin Abi Hamzah, with this chain.
