وأخبرني محمد بن علي بن عبد الحميد الصَّنعاني بمكة، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا معمر، أخبرني الزُّهْري، حدثني أبو سَلَمة بن عبد الرحمن، أن ردَّادًا الليثيَّ أخبره عن عبد الرحمن بن عَوْف، أنه سمع رسولَ الله ﷺ يقول: "قال الله ﵎: أنا الرحمنُ، خلقتُ الرَّحِمَ وشَقَقتُ لها من اسمي، فمن وَصَلَها وصلتُه، ومن قَطَعَها بَتَتُّه" (2). هذا أبو الردَّاد اللّيثي قد أضاف فيه (3) سفيان بن عُيينة ومحمد بن أبي عَتيق (4) وشعيب بن أبي حمزة وسفيان بن حسين. أما حديث ابن عيينة:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: I am al-Rahman. I created al-rahim (the tie of kinship) and derived it from My name. So whoever joins it, I will join him, and whoever severs it, I will cut him off (at the root)."

(2) صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات غير رداد الليثي - وقال البعض: أبو الرداد، وهو الأشهر - لم يرو عنه غير أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات"، وقد توبع في الرواية السابقة. وقد اختلف في هذا الحديث على عبد الرزاق كما قال الدارقطني في "العلل" 4/ 262.
Grading: This narration is "sahih li-ghayrihi". All the narrators of this chain are trustworthy except "Raddad al-Laythi" - some called him "Abu al-Raddad", and this is better known. No one narrated from him except Abu Salamah bin 'Abd al-Rahman, but Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat", and he is corroborated in the previous narration.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is disagreement over 'Abd al-Razzaq in this hadith, as al-Daraqutni stated in "al-'Ilal" (4/ 262).
وأخرجه أحمد 3/ (1680)، وأبو داود (1695) من طريق عبد الرزاق، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (3/ 1680) and Abu Dawud (1695) recorded it by way of 'Abd al-Razzaq, with this chain.
وأخرجه ابن حبان (443) من طريق عبد الله بن المبارك، عن معمر، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban (443) recorded it by way of 'Abdullah bin al-Mubarak, from Ma'mar, in the same way.
(3) يقصد المصنف أنَّ رواية معمر جاء فيها: ردّاد، وأن رواية هؤلاء المذكورين جاء فيها أبو رداد مكنًّى، وخطّأ رواية معمر البخاريُّ كما نقله عنه الترمذي في "السنن" بإثر الحديث (1907).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The author (al-Hakim) means that in the narration of Ma'mar the name came as "Raddad", whereas in the narration of the others mentioned it came with the kunyah "Abu al-Raddad". Imam al-Bukhari judged the narration of Ma'mar (with Raddad) to be a mistake, as Imam al-Tirmidhi quoted from him in "al-Sunan" (after hadith number 1907).

Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this name has been corrupted into "'Isa".
