كُلُّ الذُّنُوبِ يُؤَخِّرُ اللَّهُ مَا شَاءَ مِنْهَا إِلَّا عُقُوقَ الْوَالِدَيْنِ
Allah delays the punishment of every sin as He wills, except undutifulness to parents

(1) حدثنا أبو أحمد الزُّبيري، حدثنا سفيان، عن الأعمش، عن جعفر بن إياس، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عباس قال: كانوا يكرهون أن يَرْضَخوا لأنسبائهم (2) وهم مشركون، فنزلت: ﴿لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ هُدَاهُمْ﴾ حتى بلغ: ﴿وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ﴾ [البقرة: 272 - 273]، فرُخِّص لهم (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Companions disliked giving a share (of charity) to their polytheist relatives, so this verse was revealed: "Not upon you is their guidance," until the words of Allah Almighty: "And whatever good you spend, indeed Allah is All-Knowing of it" [Surah al-Baqarah: 272-273]. So they were given a concession (to spend on their polytheist relatives).

Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this phrase has been corrupted into "yurakhkhisu li-ansabihim".
(3) إسناد صحيح من عند أبي أحمد الزبيري، واسمه محمد بن عبد الله بن الزبير، وقد توبع من قبله. سفيان: هو الثوري.
Grading: From Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri onwards this chain is sahih.
Note / Clarification: His name is Muhammad bin 'Abdullah bin al-Zubayr, and those before him (in the chain) have been corroborated. Sufyan is "Sufyan al-Thawri".
وأخرجه البزار (5042) عن أبي موسى محمد بن المثنى، وأبوه المنذر في "تفسيره" (1) عن موسى بن هارون، والضياء المقدسي في "المختارة 10 / (69) من طريق أحمد بن عصام ثلاثتهم عن أبي أحمد الزبيري، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Bazzar (5042) recorded it from Abu Musa Muhammad bin al-Muthanna, Ibn al-Mundhir in his "Tafsir" (1) from Musa bin Harun, and al-Diya' al-Maqdisi in "al-Mukhtarah" (10/ 69) by way of Ahmad bin 'Isam; all three narrate it from Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri, with this chain.
وسلف عند المصنف من طريق سفيان الثَّوري برقم (3165).
Reference / Source: This narration has passed before with the author by way of Sufyan al-Thawri under number (3165).
