ما حدَّثَناه أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن النَّضر، حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو، حدثنا، زائدة عن منصور، عن عُبيد بن علي، عن خِدَاش أبي سَلَامة، رجل من الصحابة، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "أُوصِي امْرَأً بأُمِّه، أُوصِي امْرَأً بأُمِّه، أُوصِي امْرَأً بأبيه، أُوصِي امْرَأً بمولاه الذي يَليِه، وإن كان عليه فيه أذًى يُؤذيه" (1). ومنها:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khidash Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Companion, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I enjoin a man regarding his mother, I enjoin a man regarding his mother, I enjoin a man regarding his father, and I enjoin a man regarding the close relative who is in charge of his affairs, even if he causes him some harm."

(1) إسناده ضعيف لجهالة عبيد بن علي - ويقال: عبيد الله بن علي - فقد تفرَّد بالرواية عنه منصور وهو ابن المعتمر - كما قد اختلف عليه فيه، وقد بينّا ذلك في التعليق على "مسند أحمد". وأما خِداش، فقد قال البخاري في "تاريخه" 3/ 220: لم يتبين سماعه من النبي ﷺ.
Grading: Its chain is weak because of the jahalah (unknown status) of 'Ubayd bin 'Ali - also called 'Ubaydullah bin 'Ali. Mansur (who is Ibn al-Mu'tamir) is alone in narrating from him, and there is also disagreement over it from him, which we have explained in the notes on "Musnad Ahmad".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): As for the narrator "Khidash", Imam al-Bukhari said in his "Tarikh" (3/ 220): His hearing from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is not clearly established.
زائدة: هو ابن قدامة.
Note / Clarification: The narrator "Za'idah" in the chain is "Za'idah bin Qudamah".
وأخرجه أحمد 31 / (18789) من طريق سفيان الثَّوري، وابن ماجه (3657) من طريق شريك بن عبد الله، كلاهما عن منصور بن المعتمر بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad recorded it 31/ (18789) by way of Sufyan al-Thawri, and Ibn Majah (3657) by way of Sharik bin 'Abdullah; both of them (Sufyan and Sharik) narrate it from Mansur bin al-Mu'tamir with this chain.
