حدَّثَناه دَعلَج بن أحمد السِّجزيُّ، حدثنا عبد العزيز بن معاوية، حدثنا عمرو بن عاصم الكِلابي، حدثني عبيد الله بن الوازِع وحمّاد بن سَلَمة، عن أبي قَزْعَة سُوَيد بن حُجَير الباهلي، عن حَكيم بن معاوية (2)، عن أبيه قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، من أبَرُّ؟ قال: "أُمَّك" قلت: ثم من؟ قال: "ثم أُمَّك" قلت: ثم مَن؟ قال: "ثم أُمَّك" قلت: ثم من؟ قال: "ثم أباك، ثم الأقربَ فالأقربَ (3). قال الحاكم رحمه الله تعالى: ثم وَجَدنا لهذا الحديث شواهدَ: فمنها:
Sayyiduna Hakim bin Mu'awiyah narrates from his father that he said: O Messenger of Allah! To whom should I show the most kindness? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To your mother." I said: Then to whom? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then to your mother." I said: Then to whom? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then to your mother." I said: Then to whom? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then to your father, then to whoever is nearest to you, and then the next nearest."
Imam al-Hakim (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Then we found supporting narrations (shawahid) for this hadith, some of which are as follows.

(2) أُقحم هنا في النسخ الخطية عن جده، وجاء على الصواب في "تلخيص الذهبي".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts the words "'an jaddihi" (from his grandfather) have been wrongly inserted here, while in al-Dhahabi's "al-Talkhis" the text appears correctly.
(3) إسناده حسن. ولم نقف عليه من هذا الطريق.
Grading: Its chain is hasan.
Note / Clarification: However, we did not find this narration through this particular route (chain).
لكن أخرجه الطبراني في "الصغير" (626)، وأبو نعيم في "تاريخ أصبهان" 2/ 68 من طريق إبراهيم بن طهمان عن مهران بن حكيم بن معاوية - وهو أخو بهز - عن أبيه، عن جده، به. وقال الطبراني: لم يروه عن مهران إلَّا إبراهيم، ولم يسند مهران حديثًا غير هذا.
Reference / Source: But Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in "al-Mu'jam al-Saghir" (626) and Abu Nu'aym in "Tarikh Asbahan" (2/ 68) by way of Ibrahim bin Tahman, from Mihran bin Hakim bin Mu'awiyah - who is the brother of Bahz - from his father, from his grandfather.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam al-Tabarani said: No one narrated it from Mihran except Ibrahim, and Mihran did not narrate any hadith with a connected chain (musnad) other than this one.
