Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 649

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tayammum is one strike for the face and one strike for the two hands up to the elbows."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Narrating it as marfu' is shadh, and the correct view is that it is mawquf. Harami bin Umarah is saduq (truthful) but had some inattentiveness, and the thiqah narrators Abu Nu'aym and others contradicted him, as mentioned before, narrating it as mawquf; and Uthman al-Anmati's status is unknown.
