It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning tayammum: "There are two strikes: one for the face and one for the two hands up to the elbows."
This narration has also been mentioned as a supporting narration (shahid).

Note / Clarification: This is how it is in the manuscripts, and it is correct Arabic, being in the accusative as an absolute object (maf'ul mutlaq), with an implied verb "yadribu" or "idrib" (strike).
1/ 152. Grading: This chain is weak due to the weakness of Sulayman bin Abi Dawud al-Harrani, and for this reason al-Daraqutni, al-Bayhaqi and Ibn Hajar (in "al-Talkhis al-Habir" 1/ 152) declared it weak. Reference / Source: Al-Daraqutni recorded it in his "Sunan" (690) via two routes from Ibrahim al-Harbi (Ibrahim bin Ishaq), with this chain. (645). Reference / Source: Al-Bazzar (6088) recorded it via Qurrah bin Sulayman, from Sulayman bin Abi Dawud, with it. Important point: He said: the huffaz (master memorizers) treat it as mawquf, as the statement of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). See also what passed at number (645).
