حَدَّثَنَا أبو عمرو عثمان بن أحمد بن السَّمّاك ببغداد، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن منصور الحارثي، حَدَّثَنَا معاذ بن هشام، حدَّثني أَبي، عن قَتَادة، عن أبي حَرْب بن أبي الأسود [عن أبيه] (3) عن علي بن أبي طالب، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال في بول الرّضيع: "يُنضَحُ بولُ الغلام، ويُغسل بولُ الجارية" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح، فإنَّ أبا الأسود الديلي صحيح سماعُه من عليٍّ، وهو على شرطهما صحيح، ولم يُخرجاه. وله شاهدان صحيحان، أمَّا أحدهما:

هذا حديث صحيح، فإنَّ أبا الأسود الديلي صحيح سماعُه من عليٍّ، وهو على شرطهما صحيح، ولم يُخرجاه. وله شاهدان صحيحان، أمَّا أحدهما:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning the urine of a nursing infant: "Water is to be sprinkled on the urine of a boy, and the urine of a girl is to be washed (clean)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(3) قوله: "عن أبيه" سقط من نسخنا الخطية، وأثبتناه من "السنن الكبرى" للبيهقي 2/ 415 حيث رواه عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم بإسناده ومتنه. وكلام الحاكم هنا بإثر الحديث يشير إلى ثبوته في الإسناد.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The words "'an abihi" (from his father) had dropped out of our manuscripts; they were restored from al-Bayhaqi's "al-Sunan al-Kubra" (2/415).
Important point: Imam al-Hakim's remarks after this hadith also indicate that these words are established in the chain.
(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن في المتابعات والشواهد من أجل عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن منصور، وقد توبع. هشام: هو الدَّستُوائي.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and because of 'Abd al-Rahman bin Muhammad bin Mansur this chain is "hasan" for purposes of corroborating chains and supporting reports.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Hisham refers to "Hisham al-Dastuwa'i".
وأخرجه أحمد 2/ (757) عن معاذ بن هشام، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it (2/757) through Mu'adh bin Hisham, with this same chain.
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (525)، والترمذيّ (610)، وابن حبان (1375) من طرق عن معاذ بن هشام، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (525), al-Tirmidhi (610) and Ibn Hibban (1375) narrated it via various routes from Mu'adh bin Hisham.
وأخرجه أحمد 2/ (563) و (1149) عن عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث، عن هشام، به.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it (2/563 and 1149) via the chain of 'Abd al-Samad bin 'Abd al-Warith from Hisham al-Dastuwa'i.
وأخرجه أبو داود (377) من طريق سعيد بن أبي عروبة، عن قَتَادة، به موقوفًا على علي بن أبو طالب.
Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud narrated it (377) via the chain of Sa'id bin Abi 'Arubah from Qatadah as "mawquf" on 'Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him).
