It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed disbelief."
This hadith is sahih on the condition of the two Shaykhs; they used a chain like this one as evidence and recorded it in the book, and there is no hidden defect ('illah) in it, but they did not narrate it (with these words). It also has a corroborating narration (shahid) on the condition of Imam Muslim, since he used Sharik bin Abdullah al-Nakha'i as evidence:

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (2) In manuscript (B) it reads "Yahya bin Ishaq", with the addition of "Yahya bin", which is an error; this addition was also in (Z) and was then erased to the correct reading. This Ishaq is "Ibn Rahawayh".
Grading: (3) Its narrators, to the last of them, are "thiqah", but it has a defect of "inqita'" (a break): Sa'd bin 'Ubaydah did not hear directly from Ibn 'Umar. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Mansur bin al-Mu'tamir, in his narration from Sa'd bin 'Ubaydah in Ahmad 9/ (5375) and (5593) and 10/ (6073), made clear that Sa'd heard it only from a man named "Muhammad al-Kindi" from Ibn 'Umar, and this Muhammad is "unknown". Mansur is given precedence over the other narrators in this disagreement. Note / Clarification: See the detailed discussion of this chain at hadith (4904) of "Musnad Ahmad". Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ishaq bin Ibrahim: Ibn Rahawayh; Jarir: Ibn Abd al-Hamid. Note / Clarification: The hadith of Jarir will come with the author at (170) by way of Yahya bin al-Mughirah from him. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3251) and Ibn Hibban (4358) narrated it through two routes from al-Hasan bin 'Ubayd Allah with this same chain. Note / Clarification: It will come at (8008) by way of Abu Khalid al-Ahmar from al-Hasan bin 'Ubayd Allah, and at (168-169) by way of Sa'id bin Masruq al-Thawri, al-A'mash and Mansur from Sa'd bin 'Ubaydah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (1) Al-Hasan bin 'Ubayd Allah al-Nakha'i was recorded from by "Muslim" alone, not by al-Bukhari.
