Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) Its chain is "sahih", and the author's shaykh Abd al-Rahman bin al-Hasan (in one of its routes), although weak, has been corroborated. Reference / Source: Ahmad (7/ 4171) narrated it through two routes from Shu'bah with this same chain. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad 6/ (3687) and 7/ (4194), Abu Dawud (3910), Ibn Majah (3538), al-Tirmidhi (1614) and Ibn Hibban (6122), by way of Sufyan al-Thawri, from Salamah bin Kuhayl. Al-Tirmidhi said: "hasan sahih". Note / Clarification: "Al-tiyarah": taking evil omens and relying on that in doing or abandoning something. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar says in "al-Fath" (17/ 576): It was called shirk only because they believed that it brings benefit or wards off harm, so it is as though they associated it with Allah the Exalted as a partner. Note / Clarification: "But Allah removes it through reliance (tawakkul)": this indicates that whoever experiences this thought, but submits to Allah and pays no heed to the omen, will not be taken to account for what occurred to him of it.
