حدَّثنا محمد بن صالح والحسن بن يعقوب، قالا: حدَّثنا السَّرِي بن خُزيمة، حدَّثنا عبد الله بن يزيد المقرئ، حدَّثنا سعيدٌ بن أبي أيوب، حدثني يحيى بن أبي سليمان، عن سعيد المَقبُري، عن أبي هريرة قال: قرأ رسول الله ﷺ هذه الآية: ﴿يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا﴾، قال: "أتدرون ما أخبارُها؟ " قالوا: الله ورسوله أعلمُ، قال: "فإِنَّ أخبارَها أن تشهدَ على كلِّ عبدٍ وأَمَةٍ بما عَمِلَ على ظهرها أن تقول: عمل كذا في يوم كذا وكذا، فذلك أخبارُها" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "That Day it will report its news" [Surah al-Zalzalah: 4], and asked: "Do you know what its news is?" The Companions said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its news is that it will bear witness against every male and female servant for what they did upon its back; it will say: He did such and such a deed on such and such a day. That is its news."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
