حدثنا الحسن بن يعقوب وإبراهيم بن عِصْمةَ قالا: حدثنا السَّرِيُّ بن خُزيمة، حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل، حدثنا وُهَيب، عن داود بن أبي هِند، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿يَاأَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ (1)﴾، قال: دُثِّرتَ هذا الأمرَ فقُمْ به (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "O you who are covered in a cloak" [Al-Muddaththir: 1], that he said: (It means that) you (peace and blessings be upon him) have been clothed with the mantle of this matter (conveying the religion), so now stand up for it.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده صحيح، والمحفوظ فيه أنه من تفسير عكرمة لا ابن عبَّاس كما سلف بيانه برقم (3905).
Grading: Its chain is "sahih", but what is "mahfuz" in it is that it is the tafsir of 'Ikrimah, not of Ibn 'Abbas, as was explained earlier at number (3905).
