It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And food that chokes" [Al-Muzzammil: 13], that he said: It refers to a thorn that gets stuck in the throat, neither going in nor coming out. And concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "a heap of sand pouring down (mahil)" [Al-Muzzammil: 14], he said: "Mahil" is that (heap of sand) from which, when you take something, the rest of it (slides and) follows you; and by "kathib" is meant a heap of sand.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is "hasan", if Allah wills. Technical note / Defect ('illah): "Shabib" occurs with this lineage in the narration of the author (al-Hakim) and in al-Bayhaqi's narration from him ("al-Ba'th wa al-Nushur" 551), and this is a "mistake" (wahm), perhaps from Abu Qilabah 'Abd al-Malik bin Muhammad al-Raqashi, whose memory deteriorated slightly when he lived in Baghdad. He has been contradicted regarding the name in narrating from Abu 'Asim al-Dahhak bin Makhlad: Ishaq bin Wahb and Muhammad bin Sinan al-Qazzaz, narrating from Abu 'Asim (in al-Tabari's Tafsir 29/135), named his teacher "Shabib bin Bishr", and he is the one known for narrating from 'Ikrimah and for Abu 'Asim narrating from him. This Shabib bin Bishr was declared thiqah by Ibn Ma'in, called "layyin" (soft) by Abu Hatim, and mentioned by Ibn Hibban in "al-Thiqat"; he is in a better state than "Shabib bin Shaybah", about whom al-Dhahabi said that the scholars declared him weak. Reference / Source: Ibn Abi al-Dunya narrated its first part in "Sifat al-Nar" (83) from Ishaq bin Ibrahim, from Abu 'Asim, from a man, from 'Ikrimah, likewise.
