It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "O you who are wrapped in garments" [Al-Muzzammil: 1], that he said: (Its meaning is that) you (peace and blessings be upon him) have been entrusted with the responsibility of this matter (of prophethood and messengership), so stand up (to fulfil) it.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is "sahih", but Wuhayb (Ibn Khalid) has been contradicted in making it the tafsir of Ibn 'Abbas, and Wuhayb's memory deteriorated slightly towards the end of his life. Reference / Source: Thus Ibn Abi Shaybah narrated it in his "Musannaf" (14/295) - combined with the next report, number (3910) - from 'Abd al-A'la bin 'Abd al-A'la, from Dawud bin Abi Hind, from 'Ikrimah, as his own tafsir. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Abu Musa al-Zamin Muhammad bin al-Muthanna corroborated him from 'Abd al-A'la (in al-Tabari's Tafsir 29/124 on al-Muzzammil and 29/144 on al-Muddaththir). And (its attribution) to 'Ikrimah is more correct. Reference / Source: Abu Bakr Ibn al-'Arabi refuted this tafsir in "Ahkam al-Qur'an" (4/323), saying: "This tafsir would be valid only if the mim (of al-Muzzammil) had a fathah and a shaddah (in the passive form); with the active form, however, it is false". Reference / Source: Ibn al-Mundhir narrated in his "Tafsir" (as in al-Suyuti's "al-Durr al-Manthur" 8/313) from Ibn 'Abbas about the verse ﴿يَاأَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ﴾ (O you wrapped in garments) that he said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who wraps himself in garments". Important point: And this is the correct meaning.
