Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3901

حدثني محمد بن صالح بن هانئ، حدثنا الحسين بن الفضل، حدثنا محمد بن سابق، حدثنا إسرائيل، عن سِمَاك بن حَرْب، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس: ﴿وَمَنْ يُعْرِضْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًا (17)﴾ [الجن: 17]، قال: جَبَلًا في جهنَّم (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will make him enter an ever-increasing punishment (sa'ad)" [Al-Jinn: 17], that he said: (By "sa'ad" is meant) a mountain in Hell.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is "hasan" because of Simak bin Harb.
وأخرجه البيهقي في "البعث والنشور" (490) عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "al-Ba'th wa al-Nushur" (490) from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain.
وأخرجه هناد في "الزهد" (279) عن وكيع، عن إسرائيل، به.
Reference / Source: Hannad narrated it in "al-Zuhd" (279) from Waki', from Isra'il, likewise.
