It is enough of a sin for a person to narrate everything he hears

حدَّثَناه أبو القاسم عبد الرحمن بن الحسن القاضي بهَمَذان، حدثنا إبراهيم بن الحسين، حدثنا آدم بن أبي إياس. وأخبرنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن إسحاق القاضي، حدثنا سليمان بن حَرْب. وأخبرني عبد الله بن محمد بن موسى، حدثنا محمد بن أيوب، أخبرنا حفص بن عمر؛ قالوا: حدثنا شعبة، عن خُبَيب بن عبد الرحمن، عن حفص بن عاصم قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "كَفَى بالمَرْءِ إثمًا أن يحدِّثَ بكلِّ ما سَمِع" (1).
It is narrated from Hafs bin Asim that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is enough sin for a person that he narrates everything he hears."

(1) رجاله ثقات - غير عبد الرحمن بن الحسن شيخ المصنف في الإسناد الأول فضعيف - وقد اختُلف على شعبة في وصله وإرساله، وصله جماعة ثقات أيضًا - كما سبق - من أصحاب شعبة، فهو زيادة ثقة مقبولة.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, except for the author's shaykh Abd al-Rahman bin al-Hasan, who is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is disagreement over Imam Shu'bah as to whether this narration is "mawsul" (connected) or "mursal"; however, a group of Shu'bah's trustworthy students narrated it as connected, so it is accepted as a "ziyadat thiqah" (an addition by a trustworthy narrator).
وأخرجه أبو داود (4992) عن حفص بن عمر - وهو أبو عمر الحوضي - بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud (4992) narrated it via Hafs bin Umar (Abu Umar al-Hawdi) with this same chain.
