أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدثنا أحمد بن مِهْران، حدثنا أبو نُعيم، حدثنا سفيان، عن سالم الأفطَس، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: جاءه رجل فقال: جَعلتُ امرأتي عليَّ حرامًا، فقال: كذبتَ ليست عليكَ بحَرامٍ؛ ثم تلا هذه الآية: ﴿يَاأَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ﴾ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط البخاري، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to him and said: I have made my wife unlawful for myself. He said: "You have spoken wrongly; she has not become unlawful for you." Then he recited this verse: "O Prophet, why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you?"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) خبر صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل أحمد بن مهران الأصبهاني. أبو نعيم: هو الفضل بن دُكين، وسفيان: هو الثوري.
Grading: This report is "sahih", and its chain is "hasan" because of Ahmad bin Mihran al-Asbahani. Abu Nu'aym is "al-Fadl bin Dukayn" and Sufyan is "al-Thawri".
وأخرجه النسائي (5583) و (11545) من طريق مخلد بن يزيد الحراني، عن سفيان الثوري، بهذا الإسناد - وزاد في آخره: عليك أغلظ الكفارات: عتق رقبة. وإسناده جيد.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (5583, 11545) recorded it from Makhlad bin Yazid al-Harrani, from Sufyan al-Thawri, with this same chain, and added at its end: "Upon you is the heaviest of expiations: freeing a slave". Its chain is "jayyid" (good).
وتابع مخلدًا على هذا الزيادة عبد الله بن الوليد العدني عند ابن المنذر في "الأوسط" (7677)، وروحُ بن عبادة عند الدارقطني في "سننه" (4016)، كلاهما عن سفيان به. وتابع سفيانَ عليها مطيعٌ الغزّال عن سالم الأفطس عند الطبراني في "المعجم الكبير" (12246).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Makhlad was corroborated in this addition by Abd Allah bin al-Walid al-Adani (in Ibn al-Mundhir's "al-Awsat" 7677) and by Rawh bin Ubadah (in al-Daraqutni's Sunan 4016), both narrating from Sufyan. And Sufyan was corroborated in it by Muti' al-Ghazzal, who narrates from Salim al-Aftas (in al-Tabarani's "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" 12246).
