حدَّثَناه أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن علي بن بَحْر البَرِّي، حدثنا عبد الله بن جعفر البَرمَكي، حدثنا مَعْن بن عيسى. وحدثنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنبَري وعلي بن عيسى الحِيري قالا: حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن إبراهيم العَبْدي، حدثنا إسحاق بن موسى الأنصاري، حدثنا معن بن عيسى، حدثنا مالك بن أنس، حدثني عبد الله بن إدريس، عن شُعْبة، فذكر الحديث بإسناده نحوه (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، وإنكارُ عمرَ أميرُ المؤمنين على الصحابة كَثْرة الرواية عن رسول الله ﷺ فيه سُنَّة، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) with the same chain that he reproached the Companions for narrating abundantly.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and the reproach of the Commander of the Faithful, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), to the Companions for narrating abundantly from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is a (precautionary) Sunnah, but they did not record it.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and the reproach of the Commander of the Faithful, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), to the Companions for narrating abundantly from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is a (precautionary) Sunnah, but they did not record it.

(2) إسناده صحيح. ورواية مالك هنا عن عبد الله بن إدريس من باب رواية الشيخ عن تلميذه، فمالكٌ شيخ ابن إدريس.
Grading: Its chain is "sahih".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam Malik's narration here from Abd Allah bin Idris belongs to the category of "riwayat al-akabir 'an al-asaghir", i.e. a teacher narrating from his own student, since Imam Malik is Ibn Idris's teacher.
وأخرجه الطحاوي 15/ 312، وابن الأعرابي في "معجمه" (2284) من طريقين عن أبي موسى إسحاق بن موسى الأنصاري، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Tahawi (15/ 312) and Ibn al-A'rabi in his "Mu'jam" (2284) narrated it through two routes from Abu Musa Ishaq bin Musa al-Ansari with this same chain.
وأخرجه ابن أبي شيبة 8/ 756 عن عبد الله بن إدريس، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Shaybah (8/ 756) narrated it through the chain of Abd Allah bin Idris.
Grading: Its chain is "sahih".
