أخبرنا أبو زكريا العَنبَري، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن عبد السلام، حَدَّثَنَا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا يحيى بن آدم، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيك، عن عثمان أبي اليَقْظان، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس في قول الله ﷿: ﴿حَتَّى إِذَا خَرَجُوا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قَالُوا لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ آنِفًا﴾ [محمد: 16]، قال: كنتُ فيمن يُسأل (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, "Until, when they go out from you, they say to those who were given knowledge: What did he say just now?" [Surah Muhammad: 16], that he said: "I was among those who were asked about it."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(3) إسناده ضعيف لضعف عثمان أبي اليقظان وشريك - وهو ابن عبد الله النخعي - وإن كان صدوقًا في حفظه سوء. إسحاق بن إبراهيم: هو ابن راهويه.
Grading: This chain is "da'if" because Uthman Abu al-Yaqzan in it is weak, and Sharik (Ibn Abd Allah al-Nakha'i), although saduq, has a poor memory.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ishaq bin Ibrahim is Ibn Rahawayh.
وأخرجه الطبري 26/ 51 عن أبي كريب محمد بن العلاء، عن يحيى بن آدم، عن شريك، عن عثمان بن أبي اليقظان، عن يحيى بن الجزار أو سعيد بن جبير، به.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabari (26/ 51) recorded it from Abu Kurayb Muhammad bin al-Ala', from Yahya bin Adam, from Sharik, from Uthman bin Abi al-Yaqzan, from Yahya bin al-Jazzar or Sa'id bin Jubayr.
