أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الزاهد الأصبهاني، حَدَّثَنَا أحمد بن مِهْران، حَدَّثَنَا عُبيد الله بن موسى، أخبرنا إسرائيل، عن أبي يحيى، عن مجاهد، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ﴾ [محمد: 1]، قال: منهم أهل مكة، ﴿وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ﴾ [محمد: 2]، قال: هم الأنصارُ، قال: ﴿وَأَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْ﴾، قال: أمْرَهم (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, "Those who disbelieve and turn (others) away from the path of Allah, He will make their deeds go astray" [Surah Muhammad: 1], that he said: "Among them are the people of Makkah." And concerning "And those who believe and do righteous deeds" [Surah Muhammad: 2], he said: "They are the Ansar." And concerning "and He will set right their condition," he said: "That is, Allah set right their affairs."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده ضعيف، أبو يحيى - وهو القتّات - ليِّن الحديث.
Grading: Its chain is "da'if"; Abu Yahya (al-Qattat) is layyin (soft) in hadith.
وأخرجه الطبري في "تفسيره" 26/ 39 عن إسحاق بن وهب الواسطي، عن عبيد الله بن موسى، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabari recorded it in his "Tafsir" (26/ 39) from Ishaq bin Wahb al-Wasiti, from Ubayd Allah bin Musa, with this same chain.
