أخبرنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا موسى بن إسحاق الخَطْمي، حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شَيْبة، حدثنا ابن فُضيل، حدثنا عطاء بن السائب، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس: أنه كان يَسجُد بآخرِ الآيتين من (حم) السجدة، وكان أبو عبد الرحمن - يعني: ابن مسعود - يَسجُد بالأُولى منهما (1). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to prostrate at the latter of the two verses of Surah Ha Mim al-Sajdah, whereas Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to prostrate at the first of them.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, except that "Ata' bin al-Sa'ib" had become confused in memory (ikhtilat), and the narration of "Muhammad bin Fudayl" from him is from after his confusion. وأخرجه البيهقي 2/ 326 عن الحاكم محمد بن عبد الله، بهذا الإسناد. Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Bayhaqi (2/ 326) from al-Hakim Muhammad bin Abd Allah, with this chain.
