It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited these verses: "Indeed, those who disbelieved in the Reminder (the Qur'an) when it came to them - and indeed it is a mighty Book; falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; it is a revelation from One who is All-Wise, Praiseworthy (Allah)." [Surah Fussilat: 41, 42] Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will not return to Allah with anything more beloved to Him than something that came out from Him," meaning the Noble Qur'an. (That is, nothing is more beloved and more excellent in the sight of Allah Almighty than the Qur'an, because it was revealed from Allah.)
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
(2062). Grading: This chain is "da'if" because of the poor memory of "Abd Allah bin Salih" (the scribe of al-Layth). Technical note / Defect ('illah): He is alone in narrating it as "mawsul" (connected) as the hadith of Uqbah bin Amir, whereas the thiqah narrators who narrate from Mu'awiyah bin Salih contradicted him and narrated it as "mursal" (as mentioned earlier at 2062). Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Bayhaqi in "al-Asma' wa al-Sifat" (502) from Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim, with this chain.
