Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3664

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: Sayyiduna Dawud (peace be upon him) died suddenly on a Saturday. He used to devote the Saturday (to worship), and the birds would stay over him, shading him.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain has "softness" (lin).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): "Sharik" (Ibn Abd Allah al-Nakha'i) is alone in narrating it, and there is something (weak) in his memory. al-Suddi is Isma'il bin Abd al-Rahman.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ibn Abi Shaybah (11/ 559) from Ubayd Allah (Ibn Musa), from Sharik, with this chain.
