أخبرنا أبو جعفر محمد بن علي الشَّيباني بالكوفة، حدثنا أحمد بن حازم الغِفاري، حدثنا قَبِيصة بن عُقْبة، أخبرنا سفيان، عن الأعمش، عن أبي الضُّحَى، عن مسروق، عن عبد الله بن مسعود في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَالصَّافَّاتِ صَفًّا﴾، قال: الملائكة، ﴿فَالزَّاجِرَاتِ زَجْرًا﴾، قال: الملائكةُ، ﴿فَالتَّالِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا﴾، قال: الملائكةُ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty "By those ranged in rows", that he said: What is meant by it is "the angels"; about "And those who drive with a driving" he said: What is meant by it is "the angels"; and about "And those who recite the Reminder" he said: What is meant by it is "the angels".
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(2) إسناده صحيح. سفيان: هو الثوري، والأعمش: هو سليمان بن مِهران، وأبو الضحى: هو مسلم بن صُبَيح.
Grading: Its chain is "sahih". Sufyan is al-Thawri, al-A'mash is Sulayman bin Mihran, and Abu al-Duha is Muslim bin Subayh.
وأخرجه الطبراني (9041) من طريق محمد بن يوسف الفريابي، عن سفيان الثوري، بهذا الإسناد.

وأخرجه عبد الرزاق في "تفسيره" 2/ 147، وكذا الطبري 23/ 33 من طريقين عن الأعمش، به.
