وأخبرنا أبو العبَّاس المحبُوبي، حدثنا أحمد بن سيَّار، حدثنا محمد بن كَثير، حدثنا سفيان، عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد قال: أخبرني مَن سَمِعَ أنسَ بن مالك قال: قال رجل: يا رسول الله، ﴿الَّذِينَ يُحْشَرُونَ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ﴾ [الفرقان: 34] (1)؟! قال: "إنَّ الذي أَمشاهم على أَرجُلِهم قادرٌ أن يَحشُرَهم على وجوهِهم" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد إذا جُمع بين الإسنادين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked: "O Messenger of Allah! 'Those who will be gathered on their faces' [Surah al-Furqan: 34] (what is their case)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the One who made them walk on their feet is able to gather them on their faces."
When these two chains are combined, this hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Note / Clarification: In the printed edition the words "كيف يحشرون؟" are added.
(2) إسناده كسابقه، والراوي المبهم عن أنس هو أبو داود السَّبيعي الذي في إسناد سابقه. سفيان: هو الثوري.
Grading: Its chain is like the previous one (weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): And the unnamed (mubham) narrator from Anas is the same "Abu Dawud al-Sabi'i" who was in the previous chain. Sufyan is Sufyan al-Thawri.
وأخرجه الطبري 19/ 12 من طريق خلاد بن يحيى الكوفي، عن سفيان، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Tabari (19/ 12) through Khallad bin Yahya al-Kufi, from Sufyan, with this chain.
