حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا بكَّار بن قُتيبة القاضي بمصر، حدثنا صفوان بن عيسى القاضي، عن عبد الله بن سعيد بن أبي سعيد المَقبُري قال: سمعت جدِّي يُحدِّث عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "كُلُوا الزيتَ وادَّهِنوا به، فإنه طيِّبٌ مبارَكٌ" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat olive oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it is pure and blessed."

(1) إسناده ضعيف جدًّا، عبد الله بن سعيد المقبري متروك، ووهّاه الذهبي في "التلخيص"، وما قبله يغني عنه.
Grading: Its chain is "da'if jiddan" (very weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Abd Allah bin Sa'id al-Maqburi in it is "matruk" (abandoned), and al-Hafiz al-Dhahabi declared him feeble in "al-Talkhis". However, the preceding hadith makes it unnecessary (i.e. the core content is established).
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (3320) عن عقبة بن مكرم، عن صفوان بن عيسى، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ibn Majah (3320) from Uqbah bin Mukram, from Safwan bin Isa, with this chain.
