أخبرنا أبو بكر الشافعي، حدثنا إسحاق بن الحسن، حدثنا أبو حذيفة، حدثنا سفيان، عن أبي إسحاق، عن التَّميمي (2)، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله: ﴿مَنْ كَانَ يَظُنُّ أَنْ لَنْ يَنْصُرَهُ﴾ [الحج: 15] قال: مَن كان يظنُّ أن لن ينصرَ اللهُ محمدًا ﷺ (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning this statement of Allah Almighty: "Whoever thinks that He will not help him" [Surah al-Hajj: 15], that he said: (Its meaning is:) whoever thinks that Allah Almighty will not help Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) (in this world and the Hereafter).
The chain of narration of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) في النسخ الخطية: التيمي، وهو تحريف، والصواب: التميمي، كما عند الطبري، وهو أربِدَة.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (2) In the manuscripts "al-Taymi" is a corruption; the correct form is "al-Tamimi", as it is in al-Tabari, and he is "Arbadah".
(3) إسناده محتمل للتحسين من أجل أربدة التميمي، وقد سلف بيان حاله عند الحديث (925). أبو حذيفة: هو موسى بن مسعود النهدي، وسفيان: هو الثوري.
Grading: (3) Its chain has the possibility of being graded "hasan" because of Arbadah al-Tamimi. His status has already been explained at (925).
وأخرجه الطبري في "تفسيره" 17/ 126 - 127 من طريق إسرائيل، عن جدِّه أبي إسحاق، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabari (17/ 126-127) narrated it via Isra'il from his grandfather Abu Ishaq.
